Paycom Gives $56,100 to Support The Salvation Army

Paycom is committed not only to creating innovative human capital management technology, but to making a difference in its community. To that end, Paycom raised the bar with its annual gift to The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma by donating $56,100 on Monday.

This year’s total surpassed last year’s gift of $31,937, which helped the nonprofit reach its 2012 kettle campaign goal as part of its continuing efforts to help those in need, both during the holiday season and beyond.

“The gift Paycom has been able to present to The Salvation Army is a testament to our incredible employees. They never fail to amaze me with their generosity for others,” said Stacey Pezold, Paycom executive vice president of operations. “I am so proud to be part of an organization that rallies to support those who are less fortunate, and Paycom does this time and time again, no matter the season. That we far surpassed last year’s donation amount doesn’t surprise me in the slightest.”

To raise the funds, Paycom employees took part in a raffle benefiting The Salvation Army. Stacey Pezold, Paycom’s executive vice president of operations, unveiled the total amount, which included a corporate match of $1.50 for every dollar raised.

Paycom’s 2013 gift was the largest employee-and-company-combined donation The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma has received this year and ranks as the largest kettle campaign donation in its history.

“This gift today from Paycom means life-sustaining opportunities for many families,” Captain Carlyle Gargis of The Salvation Army said. “Each and every night we have families come and see us at The Salvation Army who find themselves without a place to stay and many times they have lost hope, but The Salvation Army is there to provide help, hope and home for them. That is what Paycom and this gift is about today; providing help, hope and home to those needy Oklahomans.”

In addition to their generous contribution, employees helped make Christmas possible for 50 Oklahoma children through The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Paycom employees supplied gifts and monetary contributions to families statewide with children up to 14 years of age.

All of this was in addition to Paycom’s inaugural HoliDazzle event. Held Dec. 12 at Remington Park, the coat drive benefited KFOR’s annual Brad Edwards Warmth 4 Winter campaign. In total, the event resulted in the donation of more than 300 new or gently used coats.
